'Raven Moon' - Acrylic Painting on canvas

This is another 'panoramic' painting; in this case, I used 7 canvases instead of 5. The entire width of this set is 66 inches, without spacing. I love the drama created by black & white paintings, perhaps because I've always loved black & white photography, and even the classic black and white movies!

'Chocolate Verdigris' - 72x24 inches - Acrylic on canvas

This is a (2) piece abstract painting with neutral colors, and a mint/verdigris underpainting. I've incorporated the 'Golden Section', or phi (1.6180339) into the design of this painting.

There is some contention as to where the Golden Ratio first manifested itself in architecture. Some historians claim that it appeared as early as the pyramids at Giza. Egyptians used the Golden Ratio in creating structures that had a base to height ratio of 1.6, which approximates Phi. Read more here.

'Bali Terrace II' - Textured Oil Painting

This is a textured oil painting with luscious greens flowing throughout. I wanted to create a sense of depth, and as the title implies, an effect similar to the rice terraces in Bali.

'The Everlasting' - Original Abstract Painting - 'Ethereal' Series

My latest entry in the 'Ethereal Series', this abstract painting is on a single canvas, 24x36. I wanted to create a sense of time for this painting, which is why I call it 'The Everlasting'.

Time is shown ebbing and flowing, yet there is no indication of its origin or end. Almost 'Timeless', wouldn't you say?

'Ember II' - Textured Abstract Oil painting by AJ LaGasse

I'm revisiting on of my favorite styles of painting- textured oil. This is an abstract textured oil painting with siennas, crimson, and yellow highlights.

If you are interested in this type of painting, please bear in mind that the oil will take up to 5 weeks to dry enough to be shipped. It's well worth the time investment though! The oil dries to a leather -like surface, and you'll be able to feel the texture!

This isn't that phony texture that you'll find pasted over prints to give them that make-believe surface: this texture is created from the oil paint itself! See if you can find that anywhere else :)

'Alluring Worlds II' - Abstract art on canvas

Abstract art with a sense of motion, this is part of my 'Movement' series. In the series, I try to create a synergy of color that melds together in a harmonious wave. In this painting, cool colors dominate.

'Ocean's Tempest II' - Abstract painting

I love doing this type of painting! Even though it's title refers to the ocean, it could actually be an ocean on another planet - ha ha! Or even a view from the Hubble telescope of a distant nebula...

'Exotic Elements II' - Abstract Art by AJ LaGasse

This acrylic abstract painting is a 6 piece set, with each canvas measuring 12x36 inches. Overall, this set measures 6 feet wide. The painting is an exercise in juxtaposition, with a play on warm and cool colors. I've made the green a warm color, so that it could be placed against the 'cool' purple!

'Masquerade II' - Acrylic abstract painting by AJ LaGasse

A colorful abstract painting in mostly cool colors, I tried to convey a sense of mystery and movement into the feather-like strands of color!
