'Crocus Melody' - 18x24 inches - Oil on Canvas by LaGasse

This is a floral oil painting that I completed some time ago- (late 2003). I had a good time with this one- it was a fast rendition of a bunch of crocuses. I like the way that the yellow/orange in the center of the flowers creates a warm contrast against the blue-purple petals.

'Khufu Mirage' - 15x20 inches - oil on canvas

This is a quick study in oil for a larger painting... seems I'm on a roll with an Egyptian theme? :)

Egyptian Burial Tomb Wall

My completed reproduction of an Egyptian Burial tomb wall
This was one of my large-scale projects: (somewhat) replicating a wall from an egyptian burial tomb. This project was done some years ago, and I'm glad to see that the original exhibition is still at the museum...
The original wall is in New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art on Fifth Avenue at 82 St. I took reference photos (sans flash) of one of the walls, and of the reference diagram, shown below:
I also measured the wall's dimensions, and proceeded to reduce the scale somewhat, so as to fit the wall at the reproduction site:
In the photos above, you can see that I have already chalked the wall where each block will go. I used styrofoam panels to create a raised surface, which was then carved by hand to create the hieroglyphics and images. Finally, two coats of acrylic were used to seal the entire project!

'Amazon' - 18x24 inches - Oil on canvas - AJ LaGasse

This is an abstract oil painting for sale in green and gold hues. This luscious oil on canvas thrives well in a 'green' environment (since we are all 'green' right now), or one that has neutral colors where you would like green to be an accent color!

This is a commission request - an abstract oil painting with heavy texture in crimson hues. Some yellow ochre and white add visual interest to this abstract painting!

'SERENITY PRAYER SUNSET - 16x20 Fine Art Giclee by AJ LaGasse

This is a giclee print, based upon my original oil painting, 'Bora Bora Sunset'. The giclee has the famous 'Serenity Prayer' in it, for those that would like to stay positive amidst all the gloom and doom out there!
