This new painting is an oil painting that was completed with a palette knife, and lots of paint! It's an overhead view of a koi pond with several koi swishing around. This is a large painting, measuring 30x30 inches, with a .75 inch depth.
As you know, I have a thing for movement, and of course I wanted to express it in this painting. Probably the most movement shown is in the middle-bottom of the painting, where you see a koi tail almost as a blur. What I like about koi is their golden color, which is a great contrast to the blue/greens of the water.
I finished this yesterday, and because of the heavy texture, the painting will take approximately 3-5 weeks to dry before I can ship it out.

Your work reminds me of extreme patience and an enormous amount of energy.
I really like the brush strokes and the colors. The fish totally looks alive and swimming and swirling.
