Daily Painting - 'Walnut Strata' - 48x20 inches

This abstract painting is an earthtone textured oil painting on 3 gallery wrap canvases. The pattern is similar to what would be seen in layers of rock sediment or strata. I wanted these layers to appear as if they were almost wood-like, as in petrified wood.

How appropriate for this painting, since, when I finished it, I noticed that several hours had passed, and it seemed like I was painting for only a few minutes! This is a 3 piece textured oil painting that Melelina finished today. Deep browns (raw umber), meet a mint/teal, creating an 'explosion' of color that is making me think of some nice chocolate candy! Better yet, how about some Ben & Jerry's Mint Chocolate Cookie ice cream?

This is my latest abstract painting in textured oil paint, a merlot with 'with a dark garnet color slowly turning to orange, with aromas of red cherries and red currants'.

Sorry, couldn't help myself, that's a description of the wine itself, but it applies to the painting as well (except the aroma part- the smell is of delicious linseed oil!).

This is a still life of strawberries that I painted after my friend Bill brought over a bunch that he and his family had picked in Plant City, FL. They were outstanding! You couldn't get them any fresher than that!

Hopefully, I've captured the essence of juicy plumpness in this painting, which you might say is a slight departure from my abstract style!

This is a new abstract oil painting with brown and blue hues. I decided to create smaller paintings again, for those that do not have the wall space, and/or just need an accent painting on a wall, instead of a large diptych or tryptich.

This is an original oil painting that I finished today as a study for a larger commissioned painting. The scene is of Monet's garden in Giverny, France with the japanese style bridge covered in white flowers. Water lily pads are seen in the water in the left foreground.

The painting continues on the edges, so you do not necessarily have to frame it!
