Here's another Daily Painting - 'RENAISSANCE'- an abstract painting by AJ LaGasse



So, another busy day here in my studio: had several paintings going out, deliveries coming in, and worked on this painting in 4 different sessions.

These type of abstracts are not done alla prima (one session). Rather, multiple layers are needed to create the ambience that I'm looking for. Usually 3 or 4, but sometimes up to seven painting sessions! To that, add 2 layers of varnish for optical depth and protection, painted edges (two coats), and you'll appreciate the amount of time that goes into each piece!
