Diamonds are Forever...

Courtesy Science Ltd. and Jay Jopling/White Cube (London)

That's right, for a cool 100 Million, you could own this new work by artist Damien Hirst! It's a life-size platinum skull set with 8,601 high-quality diamonds. If sold, Mr. Hirst’s skull will be the most expensive new work of art ever made. The large diamond in the forehead is 'only' 52.40 carats!

In case you're wondering, Hirst is the artist that made his name by pickling sharks, cows, sheep, and so on. His work is all about death, and I do think that the skull certainly fits the bill.

PS - If you happen to purchase this, let me know, I'd like to take a closer look... ;)
