Commissioned Abstract Painting - 'COSMOS'- 36 x 60 inches - LaGasse Abstract Art
This is a slight departure from the latest textured oil paintings, but just as fun, nevertheless! Colorful, and full of motion, this painting is an acrylic on canvas abstract.

Another Commissioned Textured Oil Painting - 'Walnut Canyon' - by AJ LaGasse
This is another textured oil painting, by commission. Warm siennas, and umbers were used to create this diptych abstract painting. Below is a close-up of the texture.

Textured Oil Painting - 'Rustic Fossil III' - by AJ LaGasse
So this is my latest textured oil painting. This one has undertones of magenta, crimson, and cobalt violet. I tried to blend these down a little, so that the end result wouldn't look too bright. I wanted this to have a natural, organic look to it.
Other colors used are burnt sienna, raw sienna and yellow ochre. The overall tone of this painting is that of a warm wood (not wormwood- ha ha). Hopefully, I've accomplished this.

'IMPULSE'- 36 x 48 inches - Commissioned Painting - LaGasse Abstract Art
This is for my good friend, Janine, in Canada. This painting is part of my 'Ethereal' Series, and incorporates both warm, and cool colors. A triptych set consisting of 3 panels, (1) 24x36, and (2) 12x36 inch gallery wrapped canvases, the overall size is 36x48 inches.
Although the painting may be displayed in any direction, this is the original format (as painted).

'Illuminated Bridge'- A commissioned Impressionist painting by AJ LaGasse - 24 x 36 inches
This oil painting is one of my favorite paintings done with a palette knife. The scene is the 'Pont Neuf' bridge in France, at night. According to Wikipedia, it "is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris."
I love textures in paintings, and laying on the paint like this is great, and I think that it gives the painting an added dimension of interest. What do you think?

A new abstract painting: Textured Oil Painting - by AJ LaGasse
This is a fossil-textured painting with crimson, umbers, and ochre. The red will darken as the paint dries- maybe when it's dry, I'll take another picture, and post them side by side so that you can see the difference!
Not available for sale yet- I like to make sure that these types of paintings are ready to ship before listing at auction or for direct sale.

A new painting today- commissioned abstract, 'Nitro' - Acrylic on Canvas
This is an abstract painting that I finished today, with playful brushwork, and colorful hues- almost like a rainbow, or color spectrum! This is another painting by commission, from a collector in NYC- (stay warm! I hear it's getting cold up there!) :)
I've been keeping busy lately with a bunch of commissioned paintings, so bear with me, for those of you who are waiting for more auctions!

Abstract Art: Contemporary Textured Oil Painting - Fine Art by AJ LaGasse
OK, so I've finished another textured oil painting today. This abstract has earth hues, and ochre with some white. (Sorry, Tim, this isn't the one we were talking about- unless you like this instead- ha ha). I'm not listing it for sale yet, until it's dry, so stay tuned!
Actually, if you really like it, I could always just put it aside for you. Remember that these textured oil paintings take a very long time to dry, which is why I don't create many of them. And when there are few of anything in the world, it spells r-a-r-e, and exclusive!

'Carpe Diem' - A commissioned abstract painting by AJ LaGasse
This is part of my 'Ethereal' series, so called because of the 'airy' or ether-like look of the layered colors. Each panel is 24x36 inches, making this painting 6 feet wide!

'American Schooner' - Commissioned Impressionist painting by AJ LaGasse
This is one of my favorite seascape paintings, done entirely with a palette knife. When you're used to using a brush, painting with only a knife can be tricky! I don't paint too many in this style, so I don't get enough practice, but all you can do is keep trying. I hope you like it!

'BEDAZZLED'- 60 x 36 inches - A Commissioned Painting by AJ LaGasse
This is one of my favorite paintings, since I love using a full range of color. Ok, maybe you won't see exactly every color, but it's close! This is an acrylic painting on 5 canvases, and it can be displayed with any side up!

I love crimson, and I love crimson sunsets that let you know that it's been a warm day. So I was pleasantly surprised to receive this request for a commissioned sunset painting- 'Crimson Glow Sunset'. It's sure to warm up your day!

Original Textured Oil Painting by AJ LaGasse - Blue Abstract Art - 'Starry Night'
As promised, this painting is ready, and it's up for auction tonight on eBay. Click on the image above to see the auction, or click here to see all of the paintings at auction.
This is part of my textured oil series- very rare, since I don't have the space to wait for them to dry. The typical drying time is 3-6 weeks, depending upon the colors. That's right, some colors dry faster than others, even though the same oil is used (linseed)!
