'Transcendence' - Daily Painting by AJ LaGasse
This is my latest daily painting, an abstract on canvas that is part of my 'Surreal' series. I like to diversify my work between oils and acrylic, as well as between abstract and landscape paintings, since I'm always trying something new. Hope you like this one!

'Liberty III' - 24x36 inches - Acrylic on canvas
An homage to Lady Liberty, this is an abstract painting of the statue in silhouette, against a New York City summer's sunset. The brackish green waters of the Hudson river, reflect from the bottom of the scene, almost as a reminder of the verdigris copper patina of the Statue of Liberty itself.

'Absolut Brilliance' - Daily Abstract Art
Today's daily painting is a textured oil painting. It's another entry in my signature 'Fossil Texture' series, so named because the texture resembles a fossil cross-section, or even petrified wood.
Deep browns are blended with burnt sienna, and create a mahogany-like color. Crimson undertones show in some areas, while honey-like ochre adds visual interest by creating highlights in the focal areas.

'Amethystium' - 18 x 36 inches - oil on canvas
This is an abstract seascape with a crescent moon, and dramatic sky. I usually paint these types of abstracts in acrylic, but decided to paint this in oil.
It's funny how you like certain aspects of each medium, and you hate others. For instance, the quick drying time of acrylic can be both a hindrance, and a godsend, depending upon what you are doing! In this case, the slower drying time of the oil paint was a pleasure!

Daily Painting - 'BAHAMA BLUE - 24 x 36 inches - LaGasse FOSSIL Textured Oil Abstract Art
This is a daily painting that I finished today, with blues and lime-green hues. This photo shows a little more white than is actually in the painting itself, but I will correct the photo when I post this painting for sale on the website. This painting is from my signature 'Fossil Texture' series!
This is a textured oil painting that was inspired by the beautiful waters of the Bahamas. Each circle was meticulously created, and it took approximately 6 hours of painting time to blend the colors, and create this painting.
I consider the fossil texture to be the caviar of paintings, since they take so much time to create, and then even more time to dry! (Usually about 5-6 weeks, before they can be shipped. Oil paint can take up to a year [or more] to cure entirely, but may feel dry to the touch while handling carefully).

'Purely Pistachio' - fossil textured oil on canvas - AJ LaGasse
This is a textured oil painting on 2 canvases (diptych), with warm siennas and dark browns. You'll find the occassional pistachio color in there, as you would in a bag of the shelled variety!

'Shifting Wave' - Textured oil on canvas - AJ LaGasse
Today's daily painting is an abstract oil painting on 1 1/2 inch deep gallery wrap canvas. Heavy oil texture was used to create sweeping waves of color. I used several different blue hues to highlight or darken this textured oil painting.

'Majestic Sunset' - oil on canvas - AJ LaGasse
This is a warm sunset sky in crimson, reminiscent of the old saying, 'Red sky in the morning, sailor's warning, red sky at night, sailor's delight'! I'm sure that many people have never seen such fiery red sunsets, but I have to say that after spending much time in the tropics, and even now in Florida, red sunsets are truly magnificent!

'After the Rain' - Oil on canvas
This is a two piece seascape with an indigo/violet sky. I wanted to create a serene mood with this painting, and cool colors usually convey this. My inspiration for this painting was a sunset viewed from Ocean Drive, in Newport, Rhode Island, after a rain storm had passed.
