This is a commissioned oil painting... It's an abstract in textured oils on 2 gallery wrap canvases. I wanted to create a melody of movement in this painting, with crimson as the area of interest.
The texturing of the oil paint is pure- there are no modeling pastes used to 'build up' any part of these textured paintings. (Sometimes that is done with acrylics, since many acrylic paints do not have the body required to do this.)
The downside to using pure oil paint, is that it can take up to 5 or 6 weeks to dry enough before handling! (That's why I call these textured oil paintings the 'caviar' of oil paintings).
